I know I am quite late with a summer office outfit when it is September on the calendar, but the weather in Belgium has been so surprisingly warm that I can’t just switch myself to the autumn mode.
Summer is the perfect time to relax a bit and upgrade your business casual look with light fabrics such as linens, silks and light-weight cottons. A classic white shirt can still remain buttoned up, but subtle transparency and short sleeves bare a little skin and save you from looking like an “ice queen” when it is over 30 degrees outside.
I do like to dress up a little by wearing bright colors and accessories without exxageration. Color blocking especially combined with whites and neutral colors make you look cool on sticky days;) Spice it up with accessories: earings, bracelet, necklace or a brooch is capable to take even the most simple office outfit to a new level.
Have fun but do not forget about the appropriate dress code at your work place. Your style has no value if it works against you and keep you from moving up the career ladder.
Enjoy the last warm days and your summer wardrobe!
